Export Preparation

Vietnam has developed deep manufacturing expertise across furniture, upholstery, woven materials, ceramics and complementary objects. Accessing that expertise reliably requires on-the-ground presence, technical coordination and long-term supplier relationships.

That is what Sanctuario provides. We operate as a structured production partner — not a directory, not a trading company, not a factory. We manage the process from initial development through final shipment so that manufacturing in Vietnam remains aligned with your standards and expectations.

Nine areas of production support.

Where Sanctuario coordinates third-party services, this is described as coordination rather than direct ownership.

01

Product Development

We translate briefs into production-ready specifications. This includes dimensional refinement, material and finish selection, structural coordination and technical documentation. Whether a client arrives with detailed drawings or early-stage references, we develop the product to a point where it can be sampled and manufactured with precision.

02

Factory Sourcing

We identify and assess manufacturers across Vietnam based on category capability, production quality, workshop scale and track record with international clients. Supplier selection is structured around the specific requirements of each project — not a fixed roster of preferred factories.

03

OEM Production

Original Equipment Manufacturing in Vietnam allows brands to develop products to their own specifications using Vietnamese manufacturing expertise. We coordinate the full OEM process: brief interpretation, technical alignment, sampling rounds, approval and production oversight through to final inspection.

04

ODM Production

For brands seeking a more streamlined path to market, we coordinate ODM production using existing designs developed with trusted makers. These pieces have been reviewed, refined and prepared for efficient manufacturing. Clients can adapt finishes, materials and dimensions within defined parameters.

05

Private Label & Collection Development

We support brands building private-label furniture and home collections — from initial category direction through to production-ready ranges. This includes product selection, range architecture, material alignment and coordination with manufacturers to ensure the collection reflects the client's brand standards.

06

Sampling Coordination

Sampling is one of the most critical and frequently mismanaged stages of furniture production. We coordinate sampling with full technical oversight: reviewing dimensions, materials, finishes and construction against the agreed brief. We manage revision rounds and communicate clearly between client and manufacturer until approval is reached.

07

Manufacturing Oversight

Once production begins, we remain actively involved. This includes monitoring factory timelines, reviewing materials at the workshop, managing communication between client and manufacturer and identifying issues before they affect the final output. We do not hand over a brief and step back.

08

Quality Coordination

Quality oversight begins during factory selection and technical alignment — not only at final inspection. We review materials, finishes and construction at each stage of production. Where third-party inspection is required, we coordinate and brief the inspection team to ensure the review reflects the agreed specifications.

09

Export Preparation

We support packaging alignment, shipment preparation and export documentation coordination. This includes working with freight and customs partners to ensure the production is correctly prepared for international shipment. We provide structure and clarity at the handover stage so that delivery is predictable.

Two production pathways.

Sanctuario coordinates both OEM and ODM production in Vietnam. The right approach depends on the level of product definition, the available timeline and the brand's development priorities.

Original Equipment Manufacturing

The client provides specifications — shapes, dimensions, materials, finishes and technical requirements. Sanctuario coordinates development, sampling and production from the ground up, working with the most appropriate manufacturer for the category.

Original Design Manufacturing

The client selects from a curated set of ready-to-produce designs developed with trusted makers. Finishes, materials and dimensions can be adapted within defined parameters. This approach reduces development time and sampling rounds while maintaining quality standards.

Both pathways are managed with the same level of technical involvement, sampling oversight and production monitoring. The distinction is in the starting point — not in the standard of execution.

Collection development for brands.

Private-label furniture and home collections require more than factory access. They require product direction, range architecture, material alignment and consistent production standards across multiple SKUs and categories.

Sanctuario supports brands at every stage of private-label development — from initial category direction through to production-ready collections. We work with retailers, interior-focused lifestyle brands, hospitality groups and furniture labels developing collections that reflect their own brand identity rather than a manufacturer's standard offering.

This includes product selection, finish and material alignment, sampling coordination, quality review and export preparation. Where a brand requires a complete collection across indoor, outdoor and object categories, we coordinate production across multiple manufacturers within a single program.

Manufacturing depth across categories.

Vietnam has developed significant furniture and home manufacturing capabilities over several decades. Understanding those capabilities — and their limitations — is essential to sourcing well.

Material Depth

Vietnam has established manufacturing expertise across wood, rattan, rope, metal, upholstery, ceramics and woven materials — often within a single production geography.

Export Infrastructure

The country has developed reliable export infrastructure with established freight routes to Europe, North America, Australia and the Middle East.

Artisan Workforce

A skilled artisan workforce with multi-generational craft knowledge supports both high-volume production and smaller, design-sensitive collections.

Category Flexibility

The range of furniture and home categories available in Vietnam is broad. Mixed-category programs — indoor, outdoor, upholstery, objects — can often be coordinated within a single production cycle.

MOQ Flexibility

Compared to other manufacturing regions, Vietnam offers more flexibility on minimum order quantities, making it accessible for emerging brands and boutique collections.

On-Ground Coordination

The value of local presence compounds over time. Sanctuario's on-the-ground team reduces cross-cultural misalignment, accelerates communication and maintains consistency across production cycles.

From brief to final shipment.

01

Development

Project requirements, product direction, materials, technical needs and commercial positioning are aligned. We clarify brief, scope and production feasibility before any sourcing begins.

02

Sourcing & Sampling

Suitable manufacturers are selected based on capability, category experience and quality standards. Quotations are structured and samples are coordinated with full technical alignment.

03

Production Oversight

Factories, timelines, approvals and execution are monitored throughout manufacturing. Regular communication ensures the process stays aligned with agreed specifications and schedules.

04

Quality Control

Materials, finishes, dimensions, packaging and final production are reviewed against agreed standards. Issues are identified and resolved before shipment preparation begins.

05

Delivery

Export documentation, shipment preparation and logistics coordination are supported through completion. Handover is structured and clear.

Sourcing questions answered.

Practical answers for brands, studios and hospitality teams considering furniture sourcing and production in Vietnam.

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) means the client provides their own specifications — dimensions, materials, finishes and technical requirements — and the manufacturer produces to those exact standards. ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) means the client selects from existing designs developed by the manufacturer or production partner, with the option to adapt finishes and materials within defined parameters. OEM offers full creative control but requires more development time. ODM offers a faster path to production for brands with less defined product requirements.

Factory selection is based on the specific requirements of each project: category capability, production quality, workshop scale, experience with international standards and track record on comparable projects. We do not route all production through a fixed roster of preferred suppliers. The right manufacturer for a rattan outdoor collection is not necessarily the right manufacturer for an upholstered hospitality program.

Sampling typically involves one or more rounds of physical samples reviewed against the agreed technical brief. The first sample establishes the basic form, construction and material direction. Subsequent rounds address revisions to dimensions, finishes, joinery and surface quality. Sanctuario coordinates each round with full technical documentation, manages communication between client and manufacturer and reviews samples on the ground before they are shipped for client approval.

Minimum order quantities vary by category, manufacturer and product complexity. In general, Vietnam offers more flexibility than China or India for smaller programs. Some workshops will produce from 20–50 units per SKU for design-sensitive collections; others require higher volumes for efficiency. Sanctuario structures quotations to reflect realistic MOQ requirements for each project and manufacturer, and advises clients on how to structure orders to remain commercially viable.

Lead times depend on product complexity, sampling rounds, factory capacity and shipping method. A straightforward production run following approved samples typically takes 45–90 days from production confirmation. More complex programs with multiple categories or extensive development may require longer timelines. Sanctuario provides realistic timeline estimates at the outset and monitors production against agreed schedules throughout.

Yes. Hospitality programs often involve mixed-category requirements across bedrooms, lobbies, terraces and dining spaces. We coordinate multi-category programs with the same level of oversight applied to single-category collections — managing factory relationships, sampling, quality review and export preparation across all product types within the program.
